So tonight I realised that I have actually only ever performed a one man show once. before this festival, once. No tour, no polishing. ONCE. I never conducted a post mortem of the show. Preparing myself for Edinburgh and my few performances so far have made me do that. If I took this show home now, as it is, it would tear the roof off, completely and utterly annihilate. It goes for the jugular, a lot of fat trimmed – but alas, I have an international audience. I am learning how to tune into that sensibility, how to take a little known country and place it in context for those who don’t see what is coming.
I am also a no smoke and mirrors comedian. I am too honest with the audience, I seem to have a broken filter between my thoughts and my mouth. I am working on that filter though, it is definitely undergoing a revamp. My positives? You know I am not serving you half-baked bs, I get you thinking and I actually am funny lol!
So, you ask, how did night 6 go. Well, I enjoyed it more than show 5. I definitely had more fun, found myself being more aggressive and certainly gave less of a shit about sensoring myself. The audience felt like a theatre audience, with lots of polite laughter. Again, not the usual bwahaha I am used to, but something polite and approving lol! I have heard of and read horror stories from comedians who have been chewed up and spat out by this festival who relented and conquered the beast. I feel that hunger rising in me, I shall conquer this beast and go home proud and victorious, sure to return for more.
Back to the now: I think I have a solid show, but it is clearly really not for the faint hearted. Really. You need to park your reservations and decorum at the door and prepare yourself when you enter that room. And that is exactly how I like it. You want my story? Brace yourself.
I had fun. I hope I have more fun and the audience has fun with me. There are no alternatives. Failure is not an option, I have the world to conquer after all 😀

I was at your show last night. It was great, so unique and honest. I really enjoyed it, thank you.
